MARS Statement on Recent Lancaster News Article

Lancaster Newspaper Online reported that the Mid-Atlantic Reformation Society (MARS) participated in a “Christian Nationalist” protest of a pride festival in Lititz, PA on Sunday, June 19th. Somehow, the article also tried to link our educational event scheduled for the 23rd as a part of that protest.
For the record, the educational event about the original PA constitution and its roots in Christianity was scheduled for the Tied House in Lititz June 23, 2022. Owing to a social media storm that threatened the livelihood of the venue owners, the meeting was moved to another location for the same date. It had nothing to do with the Lititz pride event when it was scheduled or when it was moved.
Also for the record, MARS does not advocate for taking control of civil government and forcibly converting the public to Christianity which seems to be what the term “Christian Nationalist” is meant to imply. MARS advocates for people to study their Bibles and learn that it applies to all areas of life, not just the spiritual. The Bible speaks to taxes, education, immigration (you might be surprised), marriage, art, child-rearing, and everything else.
We do find ourselves at odds with the Lancaster Newspaper as it works to promote new and liberal ideas that undermine the traditional morality of those within its reach. We don’t have the same reach, but if asked by those who actually want to know we will tell the truth.
